Floors and stairs
Being cement free, our plasters become extremely resistant, allowing an application on floors and stairs, even for intensive use. Our plasters takes the properties of the surface on which they are applied.
The success of a project depends on the proper preparation of the surface.
MonoSoft and Wonderstone
are particularly suitable for large floor surfaces, and their ease of application is a real advantage, as well as their non-toxic nature for the applicator, a value so important to ClayLime. Claystone is also recommended for highly trafficked or frequently wet floors, as well as for stairs or furniture. Creatina is also unique for its more pronounced ‘stucco’ effects, especially in darker shades.
Professionals
We always recommend having our plasters installed by a professional applicator. For applicators, we strongly recommend undergoing prior training to become familiar with the ease of application of our products and the best practices for surface preparation, plaster application, and protection selection.
Advices
- Our plasters are applied on floors always in 2 layers with a maximum thickness of 2mm on a clean, dry, and crack-free surface, respecting the drying times for each step.
- Always use a mesh with a flex adhesive to avoid the risk of cracks caused by possible movements of the concrete screed.
- For application on tiles (in good condition), use a mesh or a high-quality fiber-reinforced leveling compound before applying our plasters.
- All our plasters are compatible with underfloor heating, provided it is turned off until the protective varnishes are completely dry.
- MonoSoft and Wonderstone mixtures can be kept in a bucket from one day to the next: no loss if the work is not finished at the end of the day!
- Nothing beats a ClayLime plaster for a pleasant sensation when walking barefoot!
